Coffman Broadus B. Coffman, 90, died Friday, February 28, 2003 in Duncan. Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, at New Hope Baptist Church West. Burial will be in Duncan Cemetery under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Mr. Coffman was born June 10, 1912, in Comanche, to Clint D. and Mary Francis Bailey Coffman. He married Mary Jewell McCutchen on Sept. 17, 1932, in Comanche. He grew up in a farming community near Comanche and graduated from Comanche High School in 1930. In 1937 he went to work for the Soil Conservation Service and retired in 1972 after 37 years of faithful service. He was ordained a Deacon by Immanuel Baptist Church in 1942. He continued to serve as a Deacon at New Hope Baptist Church West at the time of his death. He will be remembered as a faithful servant of the Lord and was known for his visiting those unable to attend services. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Lloyd, Ralph & George Coffman; 3 sisters in law: Vinita Allen, Vera Jobe & Ethel Greer. Survivors are his seven children and their spouses, Dale Coffman of Burns Flat, Mary and George Kennedy of Hesperia, Calif., Kenneth and Sandra Coffman of Wimberley, Texas, Rita and Dean Dombrosky and Laurie and Frank Dombrosky, all of Nederland, Texas, Carl and Lois Coffman of Shawnee, and Tony Coffman of Bethany; two sisters-in-law, Vena Coffman of Starksville, of Miss., and Ruth and Joy McMaster of Duncan; 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions can be made to the New Hope Baptist Church West building fund, 5450 W.
