COMANCHE -- Nora E. Cockrell, 82, of Comanche passed from this life on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002. Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Prairie Hill Church of Christ with Mario Pineda officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home. Nora Elizabeth Shawn was born Nov. 21, 1919, in Sante Fe, Okla., to Oscar and Georgia Lockaby Shawn. She married James B. Cockrell on June 6, 1939. Mrs. Cockrell was a longtime member of the Prairie Hill Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry Cockrell of Comanche and Larry and Beverly Cockrell of Dothan, Ala.; a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Lyndel Williams of Newcastle; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Jeannette Shawn of Norman and Curtis and Darlene Shawn of Duncan; a sister, Faye Eversole of Antlers; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Dean and Mike; two grandsons; her parents; two brothers; and two sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to Westview Boys Home or to Tipton" s Children" s Home. The family wishes to thank the Chisholm Trail Hospice care team for the care and assistance you provided.
