Dorothy Cates

Dorothy Cates, 77, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 
Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St. Services will be at 2 p.m. 
Friday in St. Laurence Cathedral with the Rev. Ken Keller 
officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.

Mrs. Cates was born March 12, 1926, in Marlow, Okla., and moved to 
Amarillo in 1958. She was a member of St. Laurence Cathedral.

She was preceded in death by four children, Kenneth in 1949, Stephen 
in 1980, James in 1989 and Kathy Hover in 1989.

Survivors include her husband, Ira; three sons, Tommy of Newport 
Beach, Calif., David of Dallas and Richard of Oklahoma City; a 
daughter, Veronica Matejko of Amarillo; a sister, Mary Cochran of 
Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
