The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== Surnames: Cole, Hickman, Sessums, Fisher, Martin, Travis Joe Auther Cole of Marlow (Stephens County), born sept. 29, 1921 in Soper to Hugh Isaac and Myrtle Mae Hickman Cole, died Feb. 16, 2001 in Duncan Regional Hospital at the age of 79. He married Violet Sessums on Jan 11, 1940 in Marlow. He graduated from Bray High School, was a resident of the Marlow area for 70 years. He was a past president of Stephens County Mineral Owners, past president and 11 year member of the Marlow School Board, was deacon and Sunday School teacher for more than 30 years. He was an original trustee of OMBI. He served six years on the county ASCS Committee and 13 years on the Community Committee. Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, and a son-in- law, Linda and Andy Fisher of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Jean Martin of Marlow; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Janet Cole of Marlow, seven grandchildren and their spouses, Paula and Lee Travis of Littleton Colo., Dan and Katrina Fisher of Anchorage, Ala, Jessica Smith-Fisher of Boise Idaho, Jeremy Martin, Tristan Martin, Tara Cole and Brent Cole, all of Marlow; a sister-in-law Lavada Sessums of Weiser, Ind. and many cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Cole. Funeral services were held in the Fifth Street Baptist Church with Rev. James T. Croswell and Harold Almon officiating. Burial was in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway- Smith Funeral Home of Marlow. --------------------------------------------------------------------
