Mr. Clampitt, 73, of Shady Cove, died Tuesday (Oct. 15, 2002) at his home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Addictions Recovery Center, 1003 W. Main St., Medford, OR 97501, or Women's and Children's Shelter, 534 N. Bartlett St., Medford, OR 97501. He was born May 30, 1929, in Marlow, Okla., to Bert and Edna Mae (Lindsey) Clampitt. In 1950, he married Eva Lamas. In 1955, he married Joann Brakebill. They lived together in Ventura County, Calif., for more than 30 years. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1987 from California. He worked for the Oxnard City Police in the 1950s. He also owned a brake and alignment shop and service station in California. He was a member of the Moose Club and a 50-year member of the Elks. Survivors include a son, Royce Allen Clampitt, Red Bluff, Calif.; two daughters, Gerry Lynn Carter, Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, and Valerie Fern, Quincy, Calif.; two sisters, Marva Sue d'Ambrogio, Oxnard, Calif., and Peggy Mullenaux, Rowland Heights, Calif.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
