All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Holdenville Cemetery--Holdenville OK Marlow Review 22 Jun 2006 Johnie Truman Clark Johnie Truman Clark, 86, of Holdenville passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at Holdenville Hospital. Services were held Saturday, June 17, at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville, with Jesse Wilburn and Alan Eck officiating. Burial was in the Holdenville Cemetery, under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home. Johnie was born on Feb. 15, 1920, in Doyle to John Robert (Papa) and Cecil Jesse (Mamie) Wright Clark. He grew up in the Doyle and Foster areas, where he worked on the family farm and attended school at Doyle. Johnie was drafted into the U.S. Army during World War II. He served in Europe, where he saw action in the Battle of the Bulge and was with Gen. George Patton at the crossing of the Rhine. After his discharge, Johnie married the former Wanda Mae McNeill on March 22, 1948. He worked as a service station manager, and later for the Elmore City schools as a custodian, where he retired after 30 years. Although he had had a number of health problems for the final 20 years of his life, Johnie died of respiratory failure. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters and three brothers. Johnie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Wanda, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Allen Johnston of Bearden; a son, Johnie T. Clark, Jr., of Howe, Texas; six grandchildren, Danita and husband Jeff Byers, Heather and husband Jimmy Parker, Holly and husband Clint Jones, Laura and husband Clinton Monchuky, Jay and wife Tana Johnston, and Roy Johnston; and four great-grandchildren.
