All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Verden News 25 February 1949 OBITUARY Goldie Mae Norman was born August 8, 1894 at Duncan, Okla. and departed this life at her home southwest of Verden, February 19, 1949 at the age of 54 years, 6 months and 11 days. She was married September 29, 1912 at Maud, Okla. to Robert J. Conn. They moved to near Verden in 1941. Mrs. Conn was a member of the Baptist Church. One son preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Loretta Price, Wolverton, Minnesota; five sons: Norvel and Vernon Conn of the home address; Johnnie Leo Conn, La Grandie, Oregon; Carl Conn, U. S. Navy and Dewey Conn, U. S. Army; one sister, Mrs. Virgie Farley, Edmond; five brothers: Walker Norman, Stroud; John Wesley, Jessie, Dan and Sam Normal all of Bakersfield, Calif.; and 5 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 22 at the Baptist Church, Verden, with Rev. Garland Anderson, Pastor, officiating. Songs were "Beautiful Isle," "In The Garden" and "Rock of Ages." Mrs. J. N. Kern, Mrs. Harry Dodson, Mrs. C. W. Hamill and Mrs. Donald Brown sang and Mrs. I. H. Bilbrey was at the piano. Casket bearers were Lawrence Winn, Fred Newberry, Lester Heavin, Chester Heavin, Lewis Ferris and Raymond Ferris.
