He married Mary "Babe" Alexander on Sept. 15 1946 in Burkburnett TX. after her death on March 18 1989, he married Evelyn Walker on April 15 1991. He served in the Second World War in the U.S. Army in the Burma Theater, being discharged as a captain. He was a member of the BPOE, a charter member of the Elks Golf and Country Club, a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the India Shrine in Oklahoma City and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Duncan. He owned and operated Campbell Auto Supply in Burkburnett TX until moving to Marlow in 1956 where he owned Carl Campbell Chevrolet Co. He purchased the Chevrolet dealership in Duncan in 1961 and operated it until his retirement in 1983. He is survived by his wife of the home, two daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and Tom Sparks of Marlow, and Carol and E.J. Buckholts of Duncan, five grandchildren, Allison Byrd of Duncan, Michael Sparks of Norman, Hilary Jones of Austin TX, and Carl and Will Buckholts of Duncan, a great- grandchild, Jordon Nicole Byrd of Duncan, three step-daughters and their husbands, Wendi and C.T. Whittier of Norman, Kim and Michael Ray of Norman, and Vanessa and Jim Fields of Yukon., three step- grandchildren Megan, Courtney, and Karey Whittier of Norman, a brother, Robert L. Campbell of Duncan, three sisters, Lucille Bohner of Burkburnett TX, Geneva Turner of Midland TX, and Nedra Kuntz of San Antonio TX. Funeral services were held in the First United Church with Rev. Elton Moelling officiating. Burial was in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Duncan under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. --------------------------------------------------------------------
