All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Duncan Banner 7 Aug 2002 Thomas John Constabile BUFFALO, Texas — Thomas John Constabile, 75, of Buffalo died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, in the East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, Texas. Service was to be at 10 a.m. today in Stewart United Methodist Church of Buffalo with the Rev. Don White officiating. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Ringling. Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Buffalo. Mr. Constabile was born Nov. 5, 1926, in Bronx, N.Y., to Peter Joseph and Vencie Constabile. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Constabile was a newspaper man and motel owner. He moved from New York to Duncan in 1950 and worked for The Duncan Banner until 1953. He worked for the Daily Oklahoman for one year and then returned to work at The Banner from 1954 until 1961. In 1961, he opened his own newspaper, The Duncan Eagle. He received the State Fair Excellence Award in 1961 and 1962. He was a member of Stewart United Methodist Church of Buffalo, and a Sunday School teacher for the couples class. He was a member of the Buffalo Lions Club and a founding member of the Duncan Lions Club. Survivors include his wife, Donna “Sissy” Constabile and a daughter, Rebecca Ann Constabile both of Buffalo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Joseph and Vencie Constabile. Bearers in Buffalo were to be Lary Johnson, Curtis Thomas, Sr., Buddy Spikes, Charlie Waters, James Stanton and Johnny Wilson. Bearers in Ringling will be Billy Bob Barnes, Stanley Barnes, Wilbie Barnes, Michael Faulkner, Ernest Marshall and Brian Roberts. Honorary bearers are Warren Anderson, Kenneth Randle, Bobby Box and Joe Womack.
