CHENAULT CALLED BY DEATH Widow of Former Well-Known Minister Died Last Friday at Home of Daughter Near Marlow Funeral services for Mrs. Mollie Raspy Chenault were held from the First Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. T.M. Moore, who was assisted by Rev. A.I. Gregg pastor of the First Baptist church. Mrs. Chenault died Friday evening at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. D.J. Young, who live near the northwest boundary of Marlow. Mrs. Chenault was 88 years, 11 months and 14 days of age. Her death came as a blow to her relatives and friends as she was ill only a short time. Acute indigestion was the cause of death. Mrs. Chenault's maiden name was Miss Mollie Respy Simons. She was born January 15, 1850 at Troy, Pike County Alabama. She was married to John Stroud on October 10, 1869. Seven children were born to this union, two of whom preceded their mother in death. Children who are living are Mrs. Fannie Jones, Willis Monroe Stroud, and Mrs. Mollie Lane, all of Jinks, Oklahoma; Mrs. Trudy Rader of Denison, Texas; Jim Stroud, Fate, Texas; Henry Stroud and Mrs. Minnie Young, Marlow. She was married to Rev. W.M. Chenault, former well-known preacher in this community, in 1903. Mr. Chenault died several years ago. Mrs. Chenault is survived by three step-children, Comer Chenault, Mack Chenault and Asfery Chenault, all of Marlow. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 42 greatchildren and 12 step grandchildren. Mrs. Chenault had been an active member of the Methodist church the past 55 years. She had made her home near Marlow for a number of years, and had lived with Mr. and Mrs. Young the past four years. Interment was in the Marlow cemetery. Steel Funeral Home was in charge of Arrangements.
