Carver, Effie Effie Carver, 86, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, in Hillsboro. Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at East Side Chapel Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors, 2495 Corsicana Hwy., Hillsboro. Burial: Hickey Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Effie was born Nov. 22, 1919, in Duncan, Okla., the daughter of Lemuel Oran and Ruby Viola Patton Henry. She married Doug Carver on her birthday in 1947, in Electra. The couple lived in Vernon until 1952. After farming a year in west Texas, the couple settled in Fort Worth. They lived in Keene since 1961. She served as a deaconess in the Keene Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she was a longtime member. Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, L.O. Henry and Oran Henry; and an infant sister, Dolly Henry. Survivors: Husband, Doug Carver; children, Diane Johnson and husband, Dr. Skip Johnson, Dennis Carver, Doyle Carver and wife, Elisa and Dan Carver; brother, Howard Henry and wife, Peggy; sisters, Helen Latham, Lois Moore and husband, Bill and Joan Gilley and husband, Troy; sister-in-law, Evelyn Carver; grandchildren, Shannon Hinkle and husband, Kevin, Brent Taylor, and Angela Carver; great-granddaughter, Arden Genore; and several nieces and nephews.
