She graduated from Marlow High School. She married George Thomas Carter, Sr. in July of 1938. She worked in a nursing home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marlow. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Ora Faye and Don Pierce of Lawton, one son and daughter-in-law, George Thomas, Jr. and Berdine Carter of Marlow, one sister, Rosie Lee Carter of Duncan, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Woodrow W. and Othella Carter of Marlow and Arthur Carter, Jr. and Lynn Carter of Ninnekah. 16 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband March 11 1979, one brother, Johnny E. Knight, and two sisters, Joann Wilder and Joy Bell Strong. Funeral services were held in the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home of Marlow. --------------------------------------------------------------------
