All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== :Vamoosa Cemetery--Vamoosa OK Duncan Banner 02 Sep 2002 Darrell Dee Carter Graveside services for Darrell Dee Carter, 75, of Duncan, who died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. Given to Gray and Alta Stackhouse Carter on Oct. 3, 1926, in Carter, Mr. Carter, he attended Durant High School and received his diploma after serving in the U.S. Army. He attended Abilene Christian College and received a bachelor’s degree in history and soon after attended the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. He worked for several years as a funeral director and ambulance driver in the Dallas area. On Aug. 25, 1951, he and Virginia Ann Morgan were married in Seminole. In the same year, he went to work for Halliburton Energy Services and retired as the Bulk Plant Foreman in 1981 after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Crestview Christian Church. Survivors include his wife of the home; one son and his wife, Rick and Lora Carter of Humble, Texas; two daughters and a son-in-law, Robbie Carter of Duncan and Rohnda and Glenn Banker of Texas; a granddaughter, Kami Jo Carter of Humble; a grandson, Kendal Carter of Humble; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many special friends.
