Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Gospel Beams Church in Duncan with the Rev. Leon Kimes officiating. Burial will be at noon in the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home in Duncan. Mr. Dickson was born Jan. 19, 1945, in Olive Branch, Miss., to John Franklin and Mary Tolithie Bell Dickson. He married Herminia Leal on Oct. 16, 1975, in Georgetown, Texas. He retired from the military, serving in the U.S. Army for 20 years. He was very patriotic and loved his country dearly. After his retirement he worked for Northrop, civil service and ITT. Mr. Dickson was involved in the children’s bus ministry at Gospel Beams Church and other churches where he was a member for many years. Survivors include his wife, Herminia, of the home; two daughters, Andrea Nell Coats and Mary Tolithie Holalde, both of Duncan; four brothers, John Benjamin Dickson of Mississippi, Harold Junior Dickson and Donald Wayne Dickson, both of Tennessee, and Gerald Hollis Dickson of Kentucky; five sisters, Frankie Lee Blaggs and Laverne Hatcher, both of Indiana, Maxine Richardson of Arkansas, Carl Creasy of Tennessee and Shirley Nash of Kentucky; and five grandchildren.
