Dudley, born March 7 1919 in Roanoke TX to Tom and May Stansell Dudley, died March 30 1999 in his home. He married Lela Mac Brown on Oct. 15 1946 in Wichita Falls TX. He served in World War II in Company 117 Infantry Regiment. He was a policeman for the City of Duncan from 1956 to 1981, retiring as captain. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, a member of the Sheriff and Peace Officers Association of Oklahoma and the Fraternal Order of Police. He was an active member ot the Unity Baptist Church and accepted Christ in 1987.Survivors include two sisters, Geneva Gresham of Ponder TX, Clara and C.D. Graham of Duncan, sisters-in-law Minnie Dudley of Paradise TX and Frances Dudley of Roanoke, a brother-in-law L.D. Williams of Comanche, a brother-in-law and his wife Frank and LaRoyce Brown of Garland TX, a sister-in-law and her husband, Pauline and Bill Gardner with whom he made his home in Duncan, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife July 17 1988, his parents, a daughter. Lela Christine Dudley, two sisters, Eva Aaron and Rachel Williams, three brothers, Bert Dudley, Frank Dudley, and Matt Dudley. Funeral services were in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Slate, Randy Brown and Dale Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Duncan Cemetery. --------------------------------------------------------------------
