Demis, born Andrew P Demitropoulos on July 10 1916 in Lowell Mass to Greek immigrants Panagiotis and Chrisanthi Demitropoulos. He attended Lowell Textile Institute prior to the Second World War. He volunteered in the Army Air Corps and served as a bombardier on B-17's being stationed at Chelveston England. He was on 25 missions during 1943. Following the was, he went to work for Haliburton Oil Well Cementing Co. He retired in 1982 as a reservoir engineer. He was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He was affiliated with the Greek Orthodox Church. He married Pansy Sharp on April 10 1955 in Duncan. He adopted her two children from a previous marriage and raised them as his own. Survivors include three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Charles and Patsy Demitropoulos of Lowell, Micholas and Jean Demis of Venice Fla., and Tony Demitropoulos of Dracut Mass., one sister and brother-in-law, Walter and Brenda Covington of Azle TX., and Curtis and Rhonda Covington of Spearman TX, two daughters and son-in-law Tina and Steve McCord of Comanche and Patricia and Stephen Mason of Jenks, and nine grandchildren. She is also survived by several nephews, nieces and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife on July 12 1985 and his parents. Funeral services were in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel in Duncan, with Rev. Mike McCord and Rev. Dow Panell officiating.
