All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== :Sunset Memorial Gardens--Lawton OK Duncan Banner 29 Aug 2002 Victor Paul DeMarco Victor Paul DeMarco, 83, of Duncan died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, in Duncan. Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with Domingo Herrera and Marie Herrera officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lawton. Mr. DeMarco was born June 29, 1919, in Havre-De Grace, Md., to Adam and Antonia Acocella DeMarco. He married Vica Beatrice Bennett on Nov. 2, 1942. She preceded him in death on April 20, 2002. Mr. DeMarco was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He enlisted in the Army in January 1941 and served until his discharge in October 1945. He was stationed at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He served overseas in Ireland and the European Theatre of Operations. After his discharge he and his wife operated many shoe repair shops across several states. He was an expert shoe repairman. In 1987, after 50 years in the business, they retired to his wife’s roots to live in Duncan. Survivors include three sisters, Lucy Cullum of Aberdeen, Md., Edith Raine of North East, Md., and Betty Buchanan of Elkton, Md.; and two nephews, Jim Buchanan of Newark, Del., and Mike Buchanan of West Grove, Pa. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Henry DeMarco. Bearers will be Dale Anderson, William E.
