All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Greenlawn Memorial Park--Bakersfield CA Dover, Charles Fredrick "Chuck" Chuck, loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Friend passed away Sunday, August 19, 2007. Visitation begins Wednesday, August 22nd, from 2-9 p.m. and Thursday, August 23rd from 8-10 a.m., at Greenlawn Mortuary, River Blvd. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 23th, 9:00 a.m., at Westside Church of Christ, 7300 Stockdale Hwy. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m., at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Chuck was born May 1, 1929, in Duncan, Oklahoma to parents John F. Dover and Mary Angeline Haas. They moved to Bakersfield in 1945. Chuck attended East High School, but soon joined the Navy in 1946, where he served his country for 2 years. He met the love of his life, Lois Louise Collins in 1948 and married in 1949. Chuck loved our Lord, his family and friends. He served as an Elder and introduced "all" of us to the Lord, as well as to hot rods, tote goats, bowling (right handed only), fishing, TAG puppets, unique Christmas shopping, the Rincon Trail and Dover naps, 2 p.m. He will be missed but not forgotten, he is with our Lord. Chuck worked many years in the auto body repair industry. Then a few memorable years at the Bowling Academy and finally back into auto body repair, retiring from Bill Wright Toyota in 1990. Chuck was the last of eight children, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon; and son, Jerry; and daughter- in-law, Reyanne. His surviving family includes his wife, Lois; son, Mike and wife, Lisa; son, John and wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Dee Dee, Jeff, and Reese Dover, and Aimee Woodward (husband, Philip), Matthew Dover and wife, Keneé, Jonathan, Andrew and Bret Dover; great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Kellan and Canon Woodward. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that Dad's love of children might influence you to donate to the International Orphan Aid & Adoption, Lifeline of Hope, 135 Kelly Road, Kalistell, Montana 59901. Designate checks to either Westside or Central Churches of Christ or the orphanage. On the back of his Navy photo to Lois he wrote: "Hi Honey; How's about loving me always, I'll love you always. Just you watch!!!
