Boyd was born in Covington, Tenn., Feb. 4, 1916. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sydney Faught and Josie Mae Hensley; sisters, Myrtle Sue Faught, Minnie Ed McGuire, Frances Butner and Betty Williams; and his brother, Howard Faught. Boyd graduated from the Wewoka High School in 1933. His first employment was at the Sinclair Service Station in Wewoka, which he co-owned with his brother, Howard Faught. He then worked for Automotive Inc., a wholesale automotive parts company, in Wewoka from 1936 to1942. Boyd served in the United States Army in Africa, Sicily, and Italy from Jan. 10, 1942, until World War II ended. After the war, he returned to Wewoka and worked for Automotive Inc. until 1952. Boyd then moved to Duncan and married Earline Williams on Aug. 5, 1956. He worked for Duncan Equipment Co. and Chief GMC until retirement in April 1979. He was a member of West Side Christian Church. He was a member of the Grand Lodge of Oklahoma Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons, Holdenville; a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner, recognized for 50 years of faithful Masonic service. He was an avid golfer, having scored a hole-in-one on Aug. 8, 1971. He was a husband who cared so much more than he would show and a father who was always there for his Wild Indians and Buddy. Boyd is survived by his wife, Earline Faught of the home; daughters, Kay Faught of Los Angeles, Calif., and May Nestler and son-in-law, John Nestler, of Los Angeles; Zane Faught of Sterling, Va.; brother-in-law, Roger Butner of Wewoka; and seven nieces and nephews. The family will be receiving friends for visitation at Bailes-Polk Funeral Home between 6 and 8 p.m. today. Bearers will be Robert Faught, George Butner, Richard Butner, Mark Williams, Jim Hopper and Jack McClennen. Honorary bearers will be James Wood, Robert Hardy, Odell Hooper, Kirby Minter, Wylie Loftin, Joe Vermedahl, Hal Thorton, Dr. W.L. Edwards and Dr. James D. Jones. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Sept. 20, 2002, in Bailes-Polk Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Craig Christina officiating, assisted by the Rev. Jody Hilliard.
