The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== Surnames: Flanigan, Hornbuckle, Starling Lemual "Lem" Boyd Flanigan, of Duncan, born July 11, 1907 in Warm Springs Ark. to Epps "Tobe" and Cyntha Hornbuckle Flanigan, died Jan 14, 2001 in Duncan at the age of 93. He married Tressie Lorean Starling on Dec. 9, 1925. He was a retired carpenter and a 32nd deg. Mason. He was an Organized Labor Leader in California and Mayor of Carney in the late 1970's. Following his retirement, he was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Carney where he taught Sunday School. He was also a member of the Western Heights Baptist Church in Duncan. Survivors include five sons, Wilbern "Bill" Flanigan of Clements, CA, Wayne Flanigan of Duncan, Don Flanigan of Livermore CA, Burl Flanigan of Clements, and L.B. Flanigan of Cleveland OK., a brother, Arnie Flanigan of Nashville Ark., 13 grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife on Nov.1 1989. Services were held in the First Baptist Church in Carney with the Rev. Frank Barnes and Rev. L.B. Flanigan officiating. Burial was in the Carney Cemetery under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home of Duncan --------------------------------------------------------------------
