All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Duncan Banner 26 Sep 2002 Leo Lavelle Fincher Leo Lavelle Fincher, 90, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, in Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City after a brief illness. He was born Oct. 24, 1911, in Byers, Texas, to Oscar and Maud Fincher. He graduated from Waurika High School in 1929. Leo was an avid fisherman, water skier, hunter, bowler and motorcyclist. Leo retired from Halliburton after 33 years of service as a motor shop mechanic. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Jimmy Darrell Fincher. Leo is survived by his wife, Ruby; a daughter and son-in-law, Sibyl and Bill Greenwood; two step-sons and their wives, Philip and Sharon DeLong of Henderson, Colo., and David and Vonda DeLong of Wichita Falls; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Pepper. Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jody Hilliard officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
