C. Gayle Dies Tuesday ---- Funeral Held at Denton Wednesday, Lived For Many Years Here ---- Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Denton Baptist church west of Marlow for Mrs. Eliza Carolina Grammar Gayle, who died at her home west of Marlow Tuesday, Feb. 29 at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 28 days. Mrs. Gayle was born in Pittsboro, Miss., Jan 1, 1867. She was married to John Ransome Gayle, deceased, at Bonner, Miss., on Dec. 7, 1886. Mr. and Mrs. Gayle had lived in the Marlow community for almost 40 years and were a highly respected family of the community. Mrs. Gayle united with a Methodist church early in life. She is survived by eight children, Essie L. Gayle, Russel R. Gayle, Mrs. Roy Pearson, Dwight Dayle and Mrs. Viola Smith, all of Marlow. John R. Gayle of Duncan, Dewitt Gayle of Edmond and Mrs. Lillian Grammar of Carlsbad, N.M. Seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren and one brother, John Grammar of Longview, Texas also survive. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Denton conducted by the Rev. Russell T. Trammell. Burial was in the Denton cemetery. Pall bearers were Herman Bruns, Jim McGehee, Carl Fincher, W. A. Mangrum, J.S. Johnson and George Bruns. --------------------------------------------------------------------
