All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Greenwood Memorial Park--Fort Worth TX Gamblin, Billy Melvin Billy Melvin Gamblin, 79, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away, Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Chapel. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Billy Melvin Gamblin was born Feb. 28, 1926, in Duncan, Okla., the son of Clay and Mona Gamblin. He served in the Navy during World War II, from 1943 to 1945, and was stationed in the Philippines. In the early 1960s, he created and hosted West Texas Outdoors TV show specializing in fishing and hunting. He was CEO of Fort Worth Beauty School and served as chief financial officer of Florida Public Utilities in the 1970s. Billy was an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer, who made seven holes-in- one. He had been a member of Ridglea Country Club since the mid-1970s, where he loved to play golf and spend time with his friends. He was a loving father and grandfather. He had a huge heart and loved people. He was a man of honor and integrity. Survivors: Wife, Sharon Gamblin; son, Roger Gamblin and wife, Peggy; stepdaughter, Gay Lynn Clark and husband, Rick; stepson, David Dilworth; grandchildren, Shayna Gober, Erik Gamblin and wife, Jennifer, Chris Gamblin, Harrison Dilworth, Lyndi Clark, Allana Dilworth and Ryan Clark; great-granddaughter, Ashley Gober; brothers, George Gamblin and his wife, Mardell and Buford Gamblin and his wife, Donna; and numerous nieces and nephews.
