All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star Wednesday, 22 June 2005 ELTON ERNEST HAY Elton Ernest Hay, age 94, of Duncan, Okla., died Monday, June 20, 2005, in Duncan, Okla. Funeral service will be at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 23, 2005, with Rev. Mike Bernhardt officiating assisted by Rev. Randy Southerland. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. He was born September 30, 1910 in Comanche, Oklahoma to Charles Carl and Clara (Bennett) Hay. He was a retired farmer and rancher and a member of the Stephens County Livestock Growers Association. He enjoyed talking about his family, especially his grandchildren. He was very active in wagon train rides having participated in many in the area. He was the oldest person at this years Velma Picnic and helped organized the Duncan Roundup Club in the late 1940s. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church at Central High. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Ernest and Donna Hay and Jim and Charlotte Hay all of Duncan and Bobby and Jean Hay of San Springs, OK, and a daughter and son-in-law, Joann and Jim Byford of Duncan, 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, his first wife Letha Rose Hay in 1978 and his second wife Evelyn. Pallbearers will be Ricky Gene McCauley, Richard Elton McCauley, Rodney Earl McCauley, Randy Carl Hay, Robert Elton Hay, Jr. and Lynn Byford.
