He graduated from Kingsburg Joint High school and joined the U.S. Air Force on April 1 1954. He retired at Sheppard Air Force Base as a T. Sgt. He served with the 44th Air Police Squadron and had been stationed at Lackland Air force Base, TX, Kirtland Air Force Base, NM, Luke Air Force Base AZ, and George Air Force Base CA. Following his retirement from the military he worked for the OK Dept. of Corrections, Fish Hatchery at Medicine Park and at Comanche County Memorial Hospital. He married Marlene Southwood on March 11 1980 in Lawton. Survivor include a son, Frank Hicks, Jr. of Lawton, two daughters, Pam Lavelle of Lawton and Vickie Hanson of Wichita Falls, a stepdaughter Jacky Delco of Minot ND, His mother Della Kane of Marlow, two sisters, Mary Lou Brady of Lawton and Armel Schwarte of Emet CA, a grandson Joshua Lodes, two granddaugters, Christine Wise and Ashley Case, two great-grandsons, Cameron and Calb and his former wife, Carol A Mieir of Lawton. Preceding him in death was his wife, Marlene, on June 21 1990. Services were at the Frontier Chapel, Ft.Sill under the directions of Huddleston's Funeral Home, Lawton.
