All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Walters Cemetery--Walters OK Duncan Banner 4 Apr 2003 Maybelle Huckabay WALTERS - Maybelle Ruth Gilliam Huckabay, 81, of Duncan died Thursday, April 3, 2003, in Duncan. Service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Church of Christ in Walters with Don Crow officiating. Burial will be in Walters Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home of Walters. Maybelle Ruth was born April 27, 1921, west of Walters, to E.B. and Connie Varner Gilliam. She grew up in Cotton County, both in the Red Store area on the Red River and the Emerson area west of Walters. She married Evert James Huckabay on Oct. 22, 1939, in Temple, and they made their home in Walters. He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 2000. Mrs. Huckabay was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Walters and was currently a member of Elk Avenue Church of Christ in Duncan, having moved to Duncan in 1994. Maybelle enjoyed working in her yard and flower garden. Survivors include two sons, Evert Keith Huckabay of Tulsa and Gary Huckabay of Duncan; a daughter, Melanie Pennah of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Etta Mae Petty of Lawton and Lillie Mae Milburn of Gunter, Texas; seven grandchildren, Gina, Bryan, Chad, Matt, Chandra, James and Dustin; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Brady, Jaelynn, Jacob and Olivia; and other relatives and many friends. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Stephens County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/stephens/stephens.htm
