Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Duncan Cemetery with the Rev. Alex Costea officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. ========= Duncan Banner 13 May 2002 Karl Henry Hazelbaker Karl Henry Hazelbaker, 39, of Duncan died Friday evening, May 10, 2002, in Duncan Regional Hospital. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Duncan City Cemetery with the Rev. Alex Costea officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home of Duncan. Karl was born Oct. 6, 1962, in Pawhuska. He was the son of George and Ann Hazelbaker. Karl was originally injured in a car accident in October of 1982. He sustained injuries that kept him confined to a local care facility, Country Club Care. In his high school days, he was active in First United Methodist Church Youth Fellowship, Spanish Club, Letterman’s Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He ran track and cross country for Duncan High and was part of the 1980 team that won a state championship. At the time of Karl’s accident, he was a junior in college at SWOSU in Weatherford. He also was a member of the Kaw Indian Tribe. Survivors include his parents of the home; a sister, Diane Hazelbaker; a nephew, Michael Pipkin; an uncle; four aunts; numerous cousins; and a multitude of friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oscar and Mary Hazelbaker and Henry and Nellie Dudrick.
