He married Aileen Holt in Walters on Jan. 6 1943. He had resided in the Corum Community since 1945. He served with distinction in the Southwest Pacific during World War 2. He was a member of the Walters American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and a member of the Corum First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of the home, daughters Juy and Skip Young and Alta and Chuck Hedrick all of Comanche, six grandchildren Duane, David, James and Darin Hedrick of Comanche, Aaron and Tammy Young of Chickasha and Lorah and Rob Gutmuller of Clovis NM, sic great- grandchildren, a brother Jack and Maggie Hartman of Oklahoma City, two nephews Jerry and Jackie, three nieces Joy, Debbie, and Diane. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Arnold Hartman, a sister, Clara Bell Sylvester and a niece Dixie Dell Birdwell.
