All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== :Duncan Cemetery-Duncan OK Duncan Banner 15 Sep 2002 Meabon Ray Jones Meabon Ray Jones, 78, of Duncan died Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, in Duncan Regional Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dean Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Duncan Cemetery. Mr. Jones was born in Burkburnett, Texas, on Oct. 5, 1923, to Lee M. and Elizabeth Brown Jones. He graduated from Olney High School in Olney, Texas, in 1939. He served his country during World War II flying transport aircraft for the U.S. Air Force. He and Mary Routon were married on Oct. 15, 1956, in Anson Texas. He came to Duncan in 1956, from Abileen, Texas, and owned an operated the Jones Well Servicing Company until his retirement in 1980. He was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William "Bill" Jones. Survivors include his wife, Mary, of the home; one son and daughter-in- law, Charles and Keyla Jones of Duncan; two step-daughters and their husbands, Belinda and Terry Whatley of Enid and Donna and Jim Tyler of Durant; one sister, Marion Cobb of Wichita Falls; and three grandchildren, Derek and Delisa Jones of Duncan and Kimberly Tyler of Durant.
