'Bill' Johnson CANTON, Texas - 91, of Duncan died Saturday, April 12, 2003, in Wilkins Nursing Center. Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, Texas. Burial will follow in Holly Springs Cemetery in Martin's Mill, Texas. Bill was born Dec. 15, 1911, in Martin's Mill, to Robert T. and Nelie Johnson. He married Ruby Vaughn on April 17, 1948. During their life together they lived in Texas, Colorado and Oklahoma. Mr. Johnson was a deacon and member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Duncan. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and a strong Christian example to all who met him. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Kathy Johnson of Duncan; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Dan Birkenholtz of Runnells, Iowa; five grandchildren, Kyle Johnson of Edmond, Adam Johnson and his wife, Amy, of Enid, Nicole Oh and her husband, Ocean, of Mill Valley, Calif., Jason Birkenholtz and his wife, Amy, of Melbourne, Iowa, and Julie Welsch and her husband, Brent, of Omaha, Neb.; five great-grandchildren, Jordan, Isabel and Garrick of Enid, Hannah Birkenholtz of Melbourne, and Kenny Welsch of Omaha; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Gladys and Olen Cantrell of Tyler, Texas, Rubye Halbrook of Garland, Texas, Doris McWilliams of Vernon, Texas, Nettie and Cleve Halbert of Athens, Texas, and Fern and Thomas Vaughan of Quitman, Texas; a brother and sister-in- law, Jeff and Louella Burnett of Mesquite, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby; his parents; his step father, W.H. "Doc" Burnett; and three brothers, Millard Johnson, O.B. Johnson and Bob Johnson.
