Lackey Former Emporia, Kan., resident Kenneth E. Lackey, 64, of Duncan, died June 15, 2003, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Mr. Lackey had worked in the news business most of his life. He had held positions with the Emporia Gazette, the Gazette Telegraph in Colorado Springs, Colo., and the Albany Herald in Albany, Ga. Kenneth E. Lackey, the son of Albert E. Lackey and Doii E. Morris- Lackey, was born March 1, 1939, in Emporia, Kan. He married Sally Cambell in 1965 and was divorced in 1980. He married Sharon Friend in 1984 and divorced in 1988. Kenneth graduated from Emporia High School in 1957. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961. Lifetime hobbies were bowling, fishing and an extensive eagle memorabilia collection. Survivors include sisters Clara M. Schaefer of Lawton, Dorothy E. Thomas of Hugoton, Kan., and Wilma R. Lind of Kansas City, Kan.; and brothers Leonard L. Lackey of Emporia and Ronald E. Lackey of Lanagan, Mo. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert E. Lackey, his mother, Doii E. Lackey and two sisters, Twila Y. Nelson and Leslie L. Swift. No services are planned.
