Mrs. Logan died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at a local care center. ========= Lawton Constitution 4 Dec 2003 Jymmie Nell Elliott Logan Funeral for Jymmie Nell Elliott Logan, 85, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church. Mrs. Logan died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. She was born June 5, 1918, in Duncan to James P. and Edna Mae White Elliott. She graduated from Duncan High School in 1936, moved to Lawton and worked as a secretary to Justice of the Peace Samuel A. Logan. She married William Archibald Logan in 1939. In 1957, she was appointed to the office of Comanche County Election Board secretary. She held the post for 26 years until her retirement in 1983. She received special commendations from the state for her record keeping. She was a lifelong participant in Oklahoma politics. She was a deaconess at First Christian Church. Survivors include her adopted children: James Alan Logan and his wife, Gwen, Lawton; and Mary Kathryn Logan and her husband Mansour Zand, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six great-great- grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Jean Pat Hickman, Edmond; two sisters-in- law; nine nieces and nephews; 19 grandnieces and nephews; many great- grandnieces and nephews; an aunt; a cousin; and her special friend and companion, Mrs. Ben Jackson, Lawton. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Alzheimer's Association, Hospice of Lawton, and to the First Christian Church Pastor's Fund for the Ministry to Aid the Elderly.
