Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in New Electra Cemetery at Electra with Johnny Harrison of Iowa Park officiating. Arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mr. McLaughlin was born in Nocona. He lived in Velma, Okla., from 1989 until moving to Canadian in January. He served two tours of duty in Korea with the Army. While in the service, he received the Combat Infantry Badge, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal with two bronze service stars. Mr. McLaughlin worked as a derrick hand in the oil field. He was preceded in death by his wife, Floydene Welch, in 1988. Survivors include three sons, James McLaughlin Jr. of Canadian, Jessie McLaughlin of Electra and Jerry McLaughlin of Copperas Cove; two sisters; and a grandson.
