Service was to be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Marlow Cemetery with the Rev. Alan McGuire officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow. Mr. McConnell was born March 23, 1916, in Foster to Julius and Pearl Parker McConnell. He married Mary Lou Manning on July 15, 1942, in Marlow. He lived in Marlow most of this life and attended school in Foster. He served in the Merchant Marines and was a pipe fitter for the Local Union 344 in Oklahoma City. Mr. McConnell was also a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Marlow. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou, of the home; a son, Gerald "G.G." Lee McConnell of Marlow; two grandchildren, Terry McConnell of Korea and Tiffany Janablot of Dallas, Texas.
