Services will be held Friday, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel in Duncan, with the Rev. Charles McConnell and the Rev. Paul McDowell officiating. Burial will be in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the Marlow High School drama department. Services were held Friday, Oct. 14, at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel in Duncan with the Rev. Charles R. McConnell officiating with assistance from the Rev. Paul McDowell. Burial was held at the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. Gary was born Nov. 4, 1957, to Charles E. McConnell Jr. and the late Helen (Webb) McConnell. He graduated from Duncan High School in 1976 and from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1981. He was an accountant with Mack Energy. He was very active in coaching the speech and drama department at Marlow High School. Gary married Paula Smith on Jan. 16, 1982, at Cordell. Survivors include his wife, Paula McConnell, of the home; his father, Charles E. McConnell, Jr., of Duncan; a daughter, Kasey McConnell, of the home; a brother, the Rev. Charles R. McConnell of Duncan; and a sister, Julianne McConnell of San Antonio, Texas. Pallbearers were John Martindale, Trey Drake, Clay Drake, Andrew Winburn, Tristan Martin, Jarrod Sandra, Brett Carson and Michael McCormick. Honorary pallbearer was Paul Sparks. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marlow High School drama department.
