All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== :Duncan Cemetery--Duncan OK Marlow Review 6 Oct 2005 Aletha Woodard McGuire, 67, passed away on Oct. 2, 2005, after a courageous battle with lymphoma. Aletha's love for her family and friends gave her strength to fight that battle. Services were held Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Duncan, conducted by her brother-in-law, Rev. Bob Towell; the Rev. Loy Elkins and Rev. Ray Ledbetter, and her Pastor, the Rev. Ron Meador. Burial was held at Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home in Duncan. Aletha was born in Duncan on Feb. 10, 1938, to Roy and Laura Woodard. Aletha married Jeff McGuire on July 31, 1954, and they were married for 51 years. Aletha is survived by her husband, Jeff; her three daughters and sons-in- law, and Becky and Mike Lightner, Tammie and Danny Deaton, and Misti and Darren Southerland; 11 grandchildren, Nikki and John Wiese, Tori and David Marsh, Michael Lightner and Lindsey Abbott, Chance and Chelbe Deaton, and Sidni, Tanner, and Trey Southerland; four great- grandchildren, Karisa Cooper, Ryder Wiese, and Ashlyn and Kallie Slate; two sisters, Ladonna Chasteena and Velda Towell; a brother, Roy Woodard; many nieces and nephews; and many friends who helped during the trials of the past year- and -a -half. Aletha was Preceded in death by her parents; a brother, O.L. Woodard; and a sister, Eudora Dixon. Pallbearers were her son-in-laws and her grandsons; honorary pallbearers were her nephews.
