MEDLIN Services for John M. Medlin, 99, of Marlow, OK, were held Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, Oklahoma, with Dr. Joe Ligon officiating. Graveside Services were held at 2:30 p.m. at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, OK under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, Oklahoma. John was born Saturday, June 23, 1906 in Verden, Oklahoma to Ace Medlin and Mary Ellen [Clevenger] Medlin. He passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2005 in Marlow. ========= Marlow Review 13 Oct 2005 *John M. Medlin, 99, of Marlow, passed away Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, in Marlow. Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, with Dr. Joe Ligon officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home. John was born Saturday, June 23, 1906, in Verden, to Ace and Mary Ellen (Clevenger) Medlin. John married Gladys Mae (Fellows) Medlin on Sept. 21, 1929, in Chickasha. John was a farmer for over 60 years. He traded cattle, and sold hay and produce. He also repaired, sold and traded lawn mowers; and for 25 years, he sold ornamental windmills. John was a "people person," he enjoyed music and loved dancing. He never missed music night at the senior citizens center. He loved keeping time to the music and telling the band, "It is getting better all the time." John was a member of the Nazarene Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, John Medlin, Jr.; seven brothers; and seven sisters. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Vicki Medlin of Garland, Texas; three daughters and son-in-law, Minnie L. and Jerry Williams of Marlow; Velma L. Cavin and Margie E. Medlin, both of Chickasha; six grandchildren, Pam (Cavin) and Don Metschar of Yukon, Gary and Lynn Cavin of Oklahoma City, Ty Medlin and Tamison Medlin both of Dallas, Lori Ackmoody of Houston; and DeShane Williams of Denver, Colo.; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher Cavin, and Kelsey Cavin of Oklahoma City. Pallbearers were his grandchildren.
