All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 21 June 2004 ZIONA RATHER MALONE Graveside services for Ziona Rather Malone, 84, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at Rose Hill Cemetery. Ziona Rather Malone was born July 14, 1919, in a farm house south of Duncan, near Empire, Oklahoma. She was the third child of seven children born to Sam and Laura Barton Rather. She died Saturday, June 19, 2004, at her home in Chickasha. She attended Weaver Chapel School west of Comanche, Oklahoma. Following her marriage in 1938 to Ted Malone, the copule moved to Chickasha where she resided for 62 years. She was a homemaker, a seamstress, and crocheted many items, which she lovingly gave to family members and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister, and her husband of 49 years. Also, two sons-in-law, Donald J. Watson of Yukon and Jerry L. Cole of Chickasha. She is survived by two daughters, Patsy Watson of Yukon and Peggy Cole of Chickasha; grandchildren, Donald Jesse Watson II, and wife Tynia (McQuigg) of Oklahoma City, Amanda Diane Davidson and husband, Werner Springet of Salzberg, Austria, Denise Janell Watson of Yukon, Angela Davidson of Chickasha; great grandchildren, Brandon Michael Watson of Oklahoma City, Jacey Bret Watson of Yukon, Camden Patrick Watson of Oklahoma City; sister-in-laws, Betty James of Geary, Oklahoma and Jessie Rather of Duncan, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Lester "Ham" Malone and wife Wanda of Choctaw, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful nurses and staff with Heartland Hospice.
