Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Houston officiating. Burial will be in Duncan City Cemetery. Ruth was born Jan. 29, 1921, in Ryan, to John Blake and Carrie Rebecca Phillips Clayton. She was a homemaker and a longtime Duncan resident. She loved to care for others and looked after and cared for several elderly people throughout the years. She was a member of Gospel Beams Church. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Pat and Carolyn Houston of Duncanville, Texas, Jerry and Kay Houston and Lynn and Mary Houston, all of Cedar Hill, Texas; three sisters, Lilly Marney of Duncan, Eula Faye Shultz of Oklahoma City, and Ann Brewer of Bethany; seven grandchildren, Darlene Houston, Wendell Houston, Keith Houston, Jeanetta Houston Dagley, Tim Houston, Garey Brant Houston and Brian Lynn Houston; 13 great- grandchildren, Cloryce Houston, Jeffery Houston, Jacob Houston, Jessica Murphee, Brandon Murphee, Robert Keith Houston Jr., Taylor Houston, Michael Houston Dagley, Sara Dagley, Natalie Houston, Rebecca Houston, Hannah Houston and Nikki Wells; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry Edward Houston; three brothers, David Clayton, Pete Clayton and J.B. Houston; and two sisters, Fannie Mae Goodgin and Alma Houston.
