MORGAN Funeral services for Lila A. Morgan, 94, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2005, at the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. Jim Sheerer will officiate. Lila was born the daughter of Fentress Lee Atkinson and Rose Cornelia Lanterman Atkinson on August ll, 1910, in Rocky, Oklahoma. She died on January 14, 2005, in Chickasha. Lila married David M. Morgan on October 4, 1930, in Cordell, Oklahoma. They lived in western Oklahoma for a short time, then moved to Duncan. Lila lived in the Duncan-Marlow area for over fifty years. In 1994, she moved to Chickasha and lived at the Lillie Mae Retirement Village. In 1999, she moved to the Christian Care Retirement Village. Lila enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, and sewing. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling. While in Duncan, Lila was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ for forty-four years. After moving to Chickasha, she became a member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers, and four sisters. Survivors include: son, Eugene Morgan, of Duncan; daughter, Marie Martin, of Chickasha; son, Wayne Morgan, of Duncan; sister, Virginia Poston, of Merritt Island, Florida; sister, Violet Teeter, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, Austin Atkinson, of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; sister- in-law, Leon Finnell, of Anaheim, California; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Resthaven Cemetery, Duncan, Oklahoma.
