Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the United Pentecostal Church in Duncan with Jonathan Hudspeth and the Rev. Charles Hancock officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Allen Cemetery in Allen, under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow. Ms. Nickell was born June 16, 1943, in Allen to Arvil James and Lavernia Bohannon Nickell. She was valedictorian of the Marlow High School class of 1961. She lived in Duncan for 29 years before moving to Marlow, where she had lived for the last two years. She retired as a buyer from Halliburton in 1994. Mrs. Nickell enjoyed crocheting, oil painting, quilting, crafts and reading. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and church pianist. She was also a member of the choir. Survivors include her father, Arvil James of Marlow; three sisters and their spouses, Patricia Priest of Marlow, Barbara Sue and Alton Bass of Purcell, Sharon and Steven Gooch of Grand Prairie, Texas; three brothers and their spouses, James and Leota Nickel of Moore, Kenneth Nickell of Chickasha, Michael and Clarissa Nickell of Edmond; three nephews, Stan Nickell, Arvil Bass and Kenneth D. Priest; six nieces, Ladonna Haworth, Roberta Yadon, Stephanie Gooch, Sondra Gooch, Shawna Maxwell and Misty Lee; 11 great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother; a brother, Dale Nickell; and a sister, Alma Christine Nickell. Bearers will be Beuford Nickell, Harvey Nickell, Harry Nickell, Ricky Bohannon, Calvin Cash and Lynn Vinson. Honorary bearers are her nephews, Stan Nickell, Kenneth D. Priest, Arvil Bass, Mel Haworth, Jason Maxwell and Steve Yadon.
