Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jack Robbins officiating and the Rev. Randy Southerland assisting. Burial will be in Duncan City Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Hettie was born June 15, 1912, in Stephens County, to R.W. and Waunita Creel Moody. She married Stephens Connie Poe on Oct. 19, 1929, in Corum. He preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 1989. Hettie was a homemaker and a seamstress. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Thomas R. Garvin of Marlow; a son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Glenna Poe of Midwest City; four grandchildren, Charles and David Poe, Kathy Murphy and Shellie Garvin; and four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother and three sisters. Bearers will be Clinton Murphree, Jake Gunkel, Bill Brown, Gene Hadlock, Gerald Cook and the Rev. Billy Morgan. Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church.
