Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Doug was born Nov. 27, 1928, in Cleburne, Texas, to Lee Washington and Matie Irene Meals Petty. He married Bobbe JoAnne Melton on May 27, 1964, in Wichita Falls. Mr. Petty was retired career military serving in the United States Army. He was a member of VFW No. 1192, the Disabled American Veterans and the Military Order of Coody. Survivors include his wife, JoAnne, of the home; three daughters and a son-in-law, Cynthia Knowles of Chickasha, Donna and Frank Deneweth of Duncan, and Virginia Boucher of Baytown, Texas; two sons, Garland "Buck" Petty and Keith Allen Stroud, both of Duncan; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
