All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Duncan Banner 21 Jan 2003 Elbert Wayne Poteet HINTON — Elbert Wayne Poteet, 73, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, in the Weatherford Living Center. Memorial service was at 2 p.m. Monday in Hinton-Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with the Rev. Melvin Dunn officiating. Burial was a private family ceremony. Wayne was born Feb. 4, 1929, in Duncan, to Patrick Hagen and Maggie Josephine Petty Poteet. He grew up in the Cache Creek area and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He had lived in the Hinton and Hydro areas for the past 15 years. He loved square dancing with the Hydro High Steppers and loved his dog, Tuffy. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, John and Tammy Poteet of Oklahoma City and Patrick Poteet of Hydro; four daughters and three sons- in-laws, Doris and Dana Thacker of Wynnewood, Donna Jo and Dennis Mina of Vaccaville, Calif., Darlene and Wendell Robertson of Mapleton, Utah, and Patricia Davis of Duncan; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a sister, Billie Jo Beare of Mesquite, Texas.
