All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Duncan Banner 9 Dec 2002 Powell, Jewell Mae HOLDENVILLE — Jewell Mae Powell, 79, of Duncan died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, in Oklahoma City. Service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville with the Rev. Craig Christina officiating. Burial will be in Holdenville Cemetery. Mrs. Powell was born Sept. 19, 1923, in Atwood, to Homer and Ruby Quinn. She was raised and attended school in Weleetka. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. Her children and grandchildren were her life. She retired from the Holdenville County Treasurer’s Office as a deputy treasurer after 17 years. She attended First Baptist Church in Duncan. Survivors include three sons, Ben Powell, Jim Powell and his wife, Sheree, Dan Powell and his wife, Suzanne, all of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Patti Stewart and her husband, Joe, of Duncan; seven grandchildren, Julie Mullins of Duncan, Amy Miller of Yukon, Crystal Young of Oklahoma City, Joe Powell of New Orleans, La., Whitney Powell of Oklahoma City, Angie Temple of Borger, Texas, Alexandra Powell of Oklahoma City; seven great- grandchildren; and a niece, Dana Harper of Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gene Quinn.
