DUNCAN WEEKLY EAGLE , Thursday May 22, 1924 J.T. POLLARD DEAD The subject of this sketch was born near Sedalia, Mo. in 1846, died at his residence in the south part of the city last Sunday about 11:00 A.M. aged 78 years 3 months and 18 days. He was married in 1867 to Miss Kate Walker at Sedalia Mo., and to this union seven children were born, six of whom are still living. They are as follows: W.T. Pollard of Bay City, Texas, J.T. Pollard, of Guymon, Okla., A.K. and A.L. Pollard of Duncan, Mrs. Lynn Bowlin, of Brawley Calif., Mrs. W.T. Bowlin, of Snyder, Texas. Mr. Pollard came here about 22 years ago from Montague, Texas, and had lived here since that time. He was a devoted member of the Methodist church and had been a steward for the past 36 years. He was loved and highly esteemed by all who knew him and numbered his friends by the score. Many of the old timers here have paid high tribute to him. Besides his wife and the six children named above he leaves many grandchildren and friends to mourn the loss of a devoted father and a true friend.
