Pursley Age 90, Lawton, Graveside service will be at 10:00 am Thursday in the Highland Cemetery with Rev. David King, pastor, Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. Pursley died Tuesday in Lawton. Burial will be under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. He was born on March 31, 1915 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Lee N. and Burt (Russell) Pursley. He married Bonnie Gibson on December 17, 1938 in Duncan. He worked at numerous bakeries in and around Lawton, Cremer Furniture Company, and owned his own floor covering business for several years. He was the head carpenter at the Army and Air Force Exchange Service at Fort Sill, and for the year 1973 to 1974 he earned the Excellence Award for his imaginative and creative use of skills on his interior and decorative design at the Little Italy, the Corral and the Golden Door Outlet, located on Fort Sill. He retired from AAFES in 1975 after 17 years of loyal and dedicated service. Mr. Pursley was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of the home; two children, Jerry Pursley and his wife Betty of McGregor, Texas and Sharon Meisenzahl and her husband Kurt of Lawton, Oklahoma; a brother, J.J. Pursley and his wife Wilma of Lawton, Oklahoma; a sister, Evelyn Doye of Moore, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Mark Pursley and his wife Melissa of Lewisville, Texas and Carol Conner of Lawton, Oklahoma and their mother, Mary Ann Pursley; two step grandchildren, David Meisenzahl and his wife Hisako of Tokyo, Japan and Daniel Meisenzahl and his wife Su of Honolulu, Hawaii; four great grandchildren, Matt and Morgan Pursley and Jake and Clayton Conner all of Lawton, Oklahoma; three step great grandchildren, Frankie Meisenzahl of Tokyo and Maya and Kayla Meisenzahl both of Hawaii. His parents, one sister and five brothers preceded him in death.
