All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Pruitt, Martha Ann Martha Ann Pruitt, formerly of Duncan, OK, lived the last few years in Oklahoma City to be closer to her daughter. She died Wednesday, September 11, 2002, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 84. Services are 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2002 at the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Randy Scraper officiating. Burial will be in the Duncan City Cemetery, under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. The family received friends Friday, Sept. 13th from 6 to 8 p.m. Martha was born March 28, 1917 to William K. and Alice Gilliam McCormack. She devoted her life to her family, her beautiful flowers, and rescuing stray animals, especially cats. She had a dry wit and a great sense of humor, which endeared her to everyone she met. She had a warm smile and a wonderful laugh. Martha had a special God given talent for growing almost any kind of flower, especially hydrangeas, azaleas, and roses. They would flourish under her care and attention. There was a special place in her heart for stray animals. They were safe, well-fed, and healthy at Martha's. She retired from Duncan Abstract Company. Martha was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all her family and friends. Martha married Joe Morgan Pruitt on October 26, 1945, in Duncan, OK. He preceded her in death on January 14, 1997. Martha is survived by one daughter, Gail Taylor and her husband, Jim, of Oklahoma City; one granddaughter, Emily of Norman, OK; and many nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and a sister. Pallbearers are Jim Taylor, John McCormick, William McCormick, Jim Peck, Jeff Sabine, Ryan Birdsong, Harry Birdsong, and Tony Link.
