Rives died Jan. 7, 2003. She donated her body to Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center in 1984. Her ashes will be placed at Duncan Cemetery with those of her husband Cleo, in a monument designed by Grace and her stepson, Mike Rives. She was born Nov. 14, 1912, in east Muskogee, the third child of Dennis Darcy and Edna Hannah Farthing. Grace grow up in the Muskogee area and graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1931. She enjoyed music, cooking and being a grocery checker for 11 years of her life. She married Chelsea D. Pritchett Sr. in 1933. They were married 17 years and lived in Muskogee. In February of 1956 she married Cleo M. Rives and soon moved to southern California where they resided for 18 years. Upon retirement in 1974 they returned to Oklahoma, living in a rural area near Gore where they enjoyed the woods around their home, wonderful friends they made, and Gore United Methodist Church. In 1987, Grace and Cleo relocated in Duncan and were active members of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, again forming and enjoying many lasting friendships. Cleo preceded Grace in death, August 1993. Grace had a strong desire to reach her 90th birthday, which she did and enjoyed celebrating with immediate family, a few close friends, and many cards and notes. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Chelsea and Wanda Pritchett of Lakewood, Colo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Dennise and Tom Duncan of Cucamonga, Calif.; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Mike and Opal Rives of Skiatook; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Ted Brus of Davenport, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and more than 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Dorothy Fultz of Muskogee and Carol and Bill Briggs of Florissant, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Pat Whittaker of Carson City, Nev., and Dorothy Farthing of Springdale, Ark.; close friends, Junior and Rosanne Brown of Duncan who provided special love and support for Grace.
