All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Loco Cemetery--Loco OK Duncan Banner 11 May 2003 Billy Joe Roberts Billy Joe Roberts, 75, of Comanche, died Friday, May 9, 2003, in Wichita Falls. Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.C. Neal, pastor of Loco Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Loco Cemetery. Billy Joe was born Sept. 30, 1927, in Broken Bow, to John A. and Ruby Howell Roberts. He married Mariann Jean Buben on Dec. 28, 1946, in Wichita Falls. He worked for Sun Oil Refinery/TASCO as an operator before retiring. He was a rancher and farmer and enjoyed horseback trail rides. He raised Quarter horses and was in the cattle business. Billy also competed in team roping with his son, Joe. He was a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Ringling was currently attending Loco Baptist. Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Joe Martin Roberts of Loco, Richard Lloyd Roberts of Wichita Falls and Tony Louis Roberts of Loco; a brother, Lloyd W. Roberts of Duncan; two sisters, Pat Weyher of Wilmington, N.C., and Betty Roberts of Point Blank, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a bother, Bob Roberts. Bearers will be James Hancock, A.L.
